If your children are attending high school, there are several top rated schools nearby in neighboring cities, like Steele Canyon High School or Granite Hills High School both belonging to the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.

What to do
There is much to do in the city of Alpine. There are a variety of retail shops best described as mom and pop shops which help the economy thrive. There are also larger retail shopping centers such as the Alpine Creek Shopping Center and the Countryside Center. Very popular among the people of San Diego is the Viejas Casino and Outlet Center. It is very well known because of its all you can eat buffet, new hotel, its very own bowling arena and arcade, plenty of retail stores and because of all the events and concerts that are hosted at the Viejas Outlet Center designated events area. The area of Alpine has a lot of history. It was once known as the home of the Kumeyaay Indians. Alpine is home to many tribes and early Catholic Missionaries. Because of its expansive wildlife, and all of it’s history, people from allover the county love to visit.
